The cost of doing a batch of PCB's would be minimal, even for a small batch. I use a place here in WA to get all my circuit boards professionally fabricated, and for protoyping they charge $247 for the first panel and $55 for each additional panel after that. The panels I use are 600x450mm I think and could fit a decent number of each board. The cost should be similar over East.

I guess it's the labour of soldering etc that would be time consuming

yeah, theres a mob we use through work... I haven't obtained a quote yet, as I want to see them on the road first, my cooper is in bits

Just out of interest, how bright are those 5mm LEDs (mcd rating)?

the centre orange is 35000, the rest are 1500

Personally I don't mind either way, as long as there's clear instructions.

I like little projects like this, although my exhaust sensor project never quite worked as I expected, and halfway through the build instructions, they note that it's not accurate...
