its not really a heavily technical circuit because its big and flows well but, heres a very brief, and quick summary for you,, this is for a lap in my car, minis may require some different stuff but meh here goes:
its a small easy brake application into turn one to settle the car and get it on its nose to turn in, midish apex, run youself to the inside of the track for turn two which is a double apex lefty, grab your first on turn in then go wide (but not past half track as it goes off camber) then bring the car back for the second apex which will be just before the end of te ripple strip which should send the car out to the other side of the racetrack and get you ready for turn 3 which is really a nothing corner.. you can basically be anywhere here and get the corner right but put youself in a position which allows the best braking approach for honda corner. alot of people out brake themselves here which is fine as there is plenty of run off but alot of time can be made up getting the corner right.. i try and trail brake all the way into a traditional apex then get on the power and use all of the road to get away but you can also enter very wide and take a late apex which sets you up well also. turn 5 (or six if your including the kink in the middle) is best taken wide with a late apex, you find yourself running out of road otherwise and there isnt much run off. the minis will deffinately be flat all the way to lukey heights which is a heavily crested left hander.. this corner is quite tricky as the car ususally wants to push wide but try and keep it tight on the inside or you will find yourself in a bit of trouble. once youve crested the hill you see a nice tyre wall looking at you so jam on the brakes but be careful not to lock up as your going downhill.. and get ready for the slowest corner on the track, mg corner, a sharp right hander which begins the run onto the straight basically, this corner is the key to a good lap as your speed here is going to affect your speed all the way down at turn one. after mg there is a longish left hander before a small straight where the pit entry lane starts and then the final corner, this can be taken flat out in a porsche 944, a mini, id say yes but some more standard cars might not, its a high speed (160 ish kmh for us) camberd left hander, take a late apex here and it will spit you out right in the right spot, dont overturn the car just let it run to the ripple strip and you should be quick, then its on for another lap (well after a 10 minute trip down the straight)

very informative Sean, thank you :)

I can see what you mean by the exit of Lukey Heights - especially watching that green car - it may be unfair to say because I'm not behind the wheel, but I reckon the guy in the green car has too much grunt, and not enough skill

he does make alot of small mistakes but rest assured, its because hes pushing as hard as he possibly can, that race there was basically a championship decider so he and the white car were trying as hard as they could, john morris his name is, hes won the bathurst 12 hour with craig lowndes etc... but yeah clearly demonstrates the point about lukey heights, even i get stuffed up one the first or second lap by entering too quick and running wide, you just cant physically pull the car back

That's my most favorite spot as a spectator. They really haul arse up over the hill and then drop down into a tight right hander. It looks awesome when the bikes go over the top as they have to flip sides so quickly and hopefully set themselves up for a fast long left hander.

Yes Meeni, I realise that but we'll be driving from Adelaide so it's not that much further. Also going to the airshow has been on the to do list for over a year now, whereas I only found out about the classic a month ago, so I'm going to attempt to do both!

Most of us should at least have laminated windscreens on our cars.

Most Minis were made without laminated screeens so there is still a lot of them about. :D
