Why do people who know next to nothing about repair and maintainence of Minis consistantly reply to post giving out advice?
It would be good if they could leave it to the few who do actually know what they are talking about
I have been caught out on a number of occasions taking the advice of so called experts only to find that I have been led up the garden path!
What is the answer to this problem?

I suggest you do like most people on this forum have done over many years.
1 get a good workshop manual
2use some common sense in diagnosing the problem with a dash of basic mechanical aptitude
3 ask questions then work out the best solution to the problem before you just blindly tear into it.
4 if you can not solve the problem then take it to some one who can do it
no-one was born with experience. we all gained that from working things out the hard way
