Fair trading about 15 years ago. It was well known in the transport industry at the time.

Went ahead and bought some KMX. Cheap at $14 for 4 Lts. Seems that this batch is coming from Valvoline (noticed it on the label of the packing boxes under the display).

Anyone noticed any difference in KMX recently? The Doc seemed to think it was re-badged Shell at one stage.

I always give it `the smell test', and I've not noticed any difference in bottles bought recently.
IMO it still smells like the old Shell Super 20W/50 of yesteryear...
No my schnoz ain't broken, yet.

BTW I think you will find that Valvoline out here is effectively a retail arm of Mobil Oil Aust- ie they make the oil.

They may say it is Ashland US but I have friends in the oilz and their additives biz.

The old Shell Super 20W/50 was a good drop, I used it back in the 70's, I had a very quick Cooper S at the time and it quite often saw 8000 rpm and it never missed a beat, also used it in a V8 manual XY Fairmont I had, it copped a good flogging and I ran up something like 150,000 hard miles in it, and was running real sweat when I sold it.
