HAHAHA

looks like i hit a nerve!!!! Very funny

Your on the money there, i am ignorant and inconsiderate. I only care about myself. And i am grown up, im not a kid like some others on here.

I get the point and i hear the so called good advice. But if my car gets written off, i dont care, 1 less hassle outta my life, if ive gotta pay up so be it. Thats the price i pay.

Bring it on.....

Not having at least 3rd party insurance is illegal in this country last time I checked...

You HAVE to have green slip insurance. Heaven forbid if you ever run into someone (not another car but another person) and they sue you for $1,000,000. Good luck pal.

My cousin (Like a brother to me as we were both single child kids) just finished paying off his car and the car that he hit from 4 years ago when he smashed it. Not really his fault. Although it's only $7000, it is alot of money for an apprentice to pay off, think of the interest!

Don't worry MrBob obviously Hanra has never been in this situation to know what owing money beyond what you can afford for something as silly as $300 a year feels like.

$300! ffs Hanra, your car is worth $20,000 at least! I'd skimp on the Kenwood double sub woofer system for that sort of peace of mind. You're nuts!!!

One more thing to add. If you actaully break the repayments into 12 monthly repayments it works out to be DIDDLY SQUAT for insurance.

You should talk to shannons, they account for all modifications and will allow you to keep the car if it is a write off as well.

Even if it is not your fault, if you are not insured, the other person's insurance company can take you for a ride. They can argue in court this and that and eventually you will lose the case or need a lawyer to represent you in court. Just thinking about paying lawyers fees makes me want to pay the annual insurance fee instead!

I just hope your your sake you don't run into a Porsche or something

Insurance is just a necessary evil...

Thrid party (green slips) are actually a part of the rego costs in QLD, not seperate like NSW. NSW gov. just did it to make more money as they get kick backs....

Thrid party property is always a good thing and failry cheap in the scheme of things. It's a gamble not to have at least that, but it's a personal choice. As long as your happy to do as you are doing, then fine. But i can assure you my insurance company will be paying me out if someone hits me and will also pay out if i hit someone, touch wood.
Good luck Hanra ( not meant in a mean way but i hope you dont have these issues)
Cheers

Aaron

I just got a shannons quote, $430 for full comp on my car. That's not too bad for a 19 yo.
I was expecting like 2 grand or something.

They are pretty reasonable. If you have more than 1 car they can do you a deal. Doesn't even have to be a classic...

The car is a '61 850, though the engine is actually a stock 1100.
That's in my name, and I've never made a claim on any other insurance.
The car is garaged, and not used daily.
Sports seats, sound system etc wasn't mentioned, as all is unconfirmed as to whether it will stay in the car or not.
