Went to Bearing Industries today.
Correct needle bearing (full complement) to suit these arms is B-1212, the brand I got was Koyo/Torrington made in USA.

The part number for upper arm bearings in the Mini King parts catalog is 88G302, this number shows on the Minispares site (with pic) as early 3 synchro box idler gear bearing (uncaged),
the number 88G302/1 in the Kc catalog is used for the upper arm, and 88G302/2 for the early 3 synchro box idler bearings.
Whether 88G302/1 and 88G302/2 are the same animal or whether they picked me the wrong bearings, I do not know, I will call em on Monday...
[edit] the price of both bearings in Kc's catalog is identical..

Yeah, I have to say that it is not helpful to the wholesalers, retailers and the end user that these all carry the same BMC / Leyland Part Number. I do tend to order them by the actual bearing part number / type. The Torrington ones are very good.

Have you looked in to getting shafts made?

Not yet, as I don't know anybody now with cylindrical grinding capability.
A friend has a CNC lathe that could spit them out from bar stock, but they would need grinding after heat treatment.
[edit] I'm sure he could arrange this, how many would we want?

I might look into getting some made, any toolroom can do this.

Or maybe GT mowog would like to become the supplier of 1st resort. :P

Doc, see what pricing you can get. I have mine hardened to 64 Rc at 0.040", they are the last ones that I'll ever need to buy (a set for front and rear cost me around $600 and I doubt too many would want to pay that much).

I can get front shafts machined on a CNC lathe from 0.750" dia linear bearing slide bar, this is high tensile material, already hardened RC62 or more, ~1.5mm deep, and centreless ground.
So no hardening or grinding is needed after the ends are machined down and threaded 1/2" UNF.

But before I do anything, I will wait and see what hardness the Karcraft ones are (they said are going to get them tested).

Price = $55 each if we buy 22 or so (what we get out of 1 bar length).

I spoke to Greg at Kc a month or 2 ago, and he was still going to get them tested..
