to get the broken stud out why don't you weld a nut to the end of the stud and unscrew it instead of usinf vice grips

IMO

If it wasn;t just another Mini that might work, but weld splatter and paint damage would be high on the agenda. I bet Anton would rather take the head off again to rectify, than have a crack at that. I'm guessing the exhaust is off and since it broke at the start of the thread that's a bit close to the open ports to be welding I think.

WOW!! Good tools make light work!!

Aaron's stud remover had it out in 5 seconds flat, with next to no effort.

So I need to fit this replacement rad, fit new fuel pump, then sus out a prob I have found with my twins....refit them....and fingers crossed that's it.

Thanks Kev and Davo for the offers of fuel pumps. 8) I decided to buy a brand spanker mechanical pump. The type I can take the top off and rotate to clear the headers.

I'll keep the LCB too...I was pondering other options for a moment there..... :?

Sorry for the dramers but as we know..when your doing wirk on a Mini you will always come across something you were not expecting
I also have a unused Mechanical fuel pump..(with the screws and I believe the out lte can be swiveld around..if you wants it.

Electric Yep as covered on Page two....put on sub with live fead an Earth. Not forgetting you can also put a kill swith on this.
you caould also do as I did...I got sick and tiered getting up Morris fixing an old one and put the pump in the boot (Back Seat wall) in assy reach. Make sure you put a fuel filter bewteen the tank and pump....gromits around the fuel line and the boot floor

Glad It did the job. Those stud pullers are the absolute best! Cheap and they really do a good job. As long as there is something there to grab onto, it'll come out.

Cheers

Aaron
