I took to the rad shroud with a file as the radiator top tank was a wee bit close...
No funny noises now. 8)

My car does seem to go faster with it on..

It's an easy mod for anyone that wants to do it..

Cut off the bottom of a full 250ml red bull can.
You don't want to open the can from the top as it wont look so good,
Clean the insides out and let it dry,
cut the can from the bottom of the top with scissors so you can slip it on the ignition coil,
Use a little bit of glue to stick it onto the coil,
Run a bit of electrical tape up the back of it.
Presto!

I compressed my coil in a vice so i could fit it on easier, I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing to do.

Adjusted my accelarator cable after fitting it early this week.
And the coil in the vice thing sounds dodgy.
It might blow up. I might do the redbull coil just not compress the coil.

Finally, at long last, (I don't believe it myself)....
SWMBO got her Fiesta out of the garage, and we pushed her Clubby van inside! :P 8)
Now I can do a bit of bodywork on it...

Good news- it only has 1 layer of Brooklands green? home sprayed acrylic over the original red. Shouldn't take much to whizz it off then I can hit it with some acrylic of her choosing.
NO, I'm not doing it in 2 pack...

Over the last few days I have collected a few odd bits from northern NSW. Purchased a 1275 power unit in running condition, purchased a rebuilt 4 synchro gearbox with pot joint outputs for my other 1100s motor, purchased a twin box RC40 exhaust, placed a big order with Mini Spares UK and received a few ebay purchases. Not much actual progress on the cars but collecting parts for the Moke, 850 and Deluxe.

I'm almost out of holidays and as usual family and house jobs have come first so the car progress has been limited.

Are you leaving the tarp on it for old times sake?

Nope, the (recently replaced) tarp is folded up on the shelf.

I'm doing it in acrylic lacquer for several reasons:
1. It's only a Clubby van...
2. It's cheaper than paying someone to do 2 pack and I'm retired now.
3. I've done a TAFE course on prep and painting acrylic and I have the gear.
4. You should NOT put 2 pack over acrylic- eventually the different expansion rates of the 2 paints will result in the 2 pack crazing in hot sun (which is what happened to Barney the pretend S).
5. I've been advised by my head TAFE teacher that if the original acrylic enamel/lacquer is sound, there is no need to go back to bare metal for an acrylic respray.
