The wife said I played with it too long cause I finally pulled the head off it.
Ok now I got your attention I pulled the 12g202 head off cleaned it up. Ready to send it off for porting and polishing and new valves etc..
Found out my extractors are beyond the thunder dome, so looks like I need a new set.

By the end of the week ill have a running 998 with new clutch and all accessories up for sale.(that's not what the heads for)
So for fathers day it was very productive

Now the weather is being a bit nicer in Vic I'll be able to pull the front subframe and get the motor ready for machining. The project continues. The sound of a mini engine will be heard in the not too distant future burbling from my garage..

Re-installed the started motor.
Adjusted the wipers some more - they now work.
Tightened some loose bolts.

Used my brand new flywheel puller and separated the 4 syncro gear box from an old 1100 engine.

Got 4 new tyres for the moke and went to Clark Rubber and got enough matching rubber flooring to cover the tray area and floor behind the front seats. The new stuff is identical to the 30 year old floor matting in the front that the car came with!

I also adjusted the tappets and leaned out the mixture screw as the plugs were black. I may have to change needle but I'll put the oxygen sensor on and measure how this one is going one day.

It's too hot to wash it now, I'll do that this afternoon in preparation for the Muster.
