took my 4yo nephew for a drive - he was chatting away as I turned to go onto the freeway, then when I put my foot down, he stopped talking, his eyes went wide and he got a very funny little grin on his face....

Adjusted my drivers door so it opens and closes properly. I still can't get it to close all the way. I think the tongue is worn.

Did a once over of the car, making it a habbit now. Glad I did, as I noticed I had a significant fuel leak.

Bolt / Nut on webber was not tight, and fuel was leaking out at a steady pace.

Also found the nuts holding the carb to the manifold were not done up properly.

Looks like they got lazy putting it back together after putting the extractors on.

Got a break yesterday and took a drive to see Linsay Siebler and picked up a few very nice parts, Now I need to find time to pull the motor and send it off for machining. Sent my head off the other day (I'm lost without it can't see a damn thing) getting some port work etc done.
Works got me in a spin so could be a few weeks before I even see the clubby again let alone work on it. But when I can I have a sh&t load of work to do and and even bigger sh&t load of parts to install.
Deadline of 27 December looking further away so going to be a lot of late nights when I'm home again.

Put in a new battery. The difference in ease of starting is incredible.

Was very close to having no cars going anywhere this morning, as I parked behind the swift which I don't normally do!

Sprayed underneath the floor, fitted new rear shocks , refitted petrol tanks ,put in new tail lights, and vacuumed 5 tons of sand out of the car.

Booked it in for a service & pink slip, fingers crossed its not too pricey an event. I'm not sure how much I trust the blue slip the previous owner(a mechanic...) got for it, I think it may have been a "mates special"

Ahh well, I'll find out on thursday afternoon! :)

Got stuck into pulling my motor and box out this evening when I realized I can't find my pullers so looks like it gets to sit for a bit longer.. On the plus side I checked the spare motor and box I got with it and looks like the originamots thing numbers engine so guess what's getting stripped down ready for the machine shop tomorrow..
Heading to Kermit's later to see if we can't get Tadpole almost road worthy.

Just dropped it off for its first service and pink slip with our regular mech. I felt alot more comfortable when he started telling me about an 850 they've been working on, fingers crossed for an inexpensive day :)
