Pulled the motor and box out today and stripped the engine bay back to bare metal, cleaned and painted just about everything i could find.
Now to make some room so i can pull out the subframe and refurb it completly.
I have all parts now to fully rebuild the front and upgrade to cooper s discs with PBR booster, Just need to find about 12 more hours in every day.
no pics cause I'm too damn exhausted to upload them.

Started to get the engine ready to test run. Head, carby, extractors, dizzy and finally wiring then fuel.

Visited it in storage, started it up and turned it over, wrapped it back up and went on a long hawkesbury drive in the daily :(

gave it, its first oil change (wow after 10 year not running the sludge that came out.....) new oil filter (remind me to convert to a spin on!) and some points, plugs seemed ok, last guy put platinum plugs in.

Next i got to work out why the clutch is jammed, no movement of the pedal at all so I think it is time to refurbish the hydraulics......

Is the clutch jammed in or out? It might be the hydraulic hose stopping the fluid from returning.

Finished assembling my `now portable' Innovate MTX-L A/F ratio meter.
It's in the car and cabled up, with go zoom-zoom in the morning and see how far out of whack my Dellorto's jetting is. :P

Went for a drive in he moke, saw another moke for sale near the Wentworth hotel in home bush, standard 79' big wheeler, squashed front donuts, still running smog gear, drums all 4 etc nothing special, asking price? $19000, I laughed and blasted away, then stopped at Edward Lee's who currently has 3 rovers for sale, all great condition, regular rover price, one of the blokes informed me that they can import any rover from japan in 6 weeks, u tell them what you want, they'll find it, send pics, bring it over, comply it and even give a warranty! Good blokes actually

Spoke with the engine shop today told them to slow down until i can get my balancer and flywheel to them for balancing.. never had to worry about an engine shop wanting to rush things, took to the engine bay again with the wire wheel to finish up a couple of crappy sections before i undercoat it ready for paint, Options for top coat as i told my wife you can have black in 3 forms gloss, satin or matt. looks like its gloss this time around..
Plans for tomorrow remove the front subframe and start on that too..
bring on daylight savings i need more light in my day
