Dylan there's really no point going above 95 RON for lower compression engines - you won't feel the benefits.

the effects are being felt over here where we cant BP98 on the coast any more opnly get it 40km away.
They said they cant supply but all other garages are selling it still for how long i dont know.
it cost $1.42per litre so it not cheap when you can find it and the only other one is caltex synergy8000 which is better than 95.
Watto asked me about the ethenol in petrol yeasterday but i have never seen it and guessed it was just an additive to get the octane rating up to 100.the only issue i have here is is this not the same stuff used for drag racing that contaminaes oil after every run due to its chemical break down, with a mini its not good due to shared gearbox oil situation, ok its only 5% but its has to have some effect like sulpher free diesel is stuffing up seals etc in fuel pumps all over NZ now.cost me a whole motor and $9000 to fix it.
