A "Donk" is a slang term for Engine...

Once upon a time,,, way way back,,, in the good old days, they used donkeys to walk around & around in circles hooked up to a pulley thing-a-me-jig,,,, to wind up a big engine to get her started,,, so it really stems from way beack then & was called a "Donkey Engine",,, basically was just a power source to start up an even bigger power source,,, they then had made small piston engines to start up those big engines & hence was affectionately called a donkey engine in the donkeys honour/memory,,, then shortened the term to just plain simply "DONK"

:-) true story

next lesson on the history of the internal combustion engine at 3.25pm tomorrow,,, anyone late to class will have to sit at the back of the room ,,, & please,,, no spit balls or fart noises this time ok???

:-)
