True , but the badly cracked and worn paint on Astro is like the wrinkles on an ancient Pro , a sign of a life of good times

Your paint job doesn't have that "character" .....

so true...

Fair enough Cush, I just have a thing about classic cars being in bad condition. Can't imagine just how much rust is underthere.

we all have our own opinion of what a "Classic car in Bad Condition" is.

All mini's love to be driven. Mine is no trailer queen, although it has been trailered home twice in the 2 years of driving it. It didn't like it, I didn't like it.

Stylish, but lacks symmetry,

just a hint for you in case you find you have lost power.

Do the badges have c-clips holding them on the inside? Or do the just push on and down?

Got a little carried away with the painting and don't know if it's just the extra mm's of paint or if this is the way they are.

Just a push on e clip type thing but there's no groove in the badge's post so an extra coat or ten of paint won't matter .

Makes mental note to check badge before any test drives... So the badge goes on, where do the e clips come into it? - I don't have any little clips etc if they're not built into the post..

Basically badge on then the little clips (o's with teeth more than e clips :? , hard to explain) push over the posts on the back of the badge where they come through the bonnet . Try supercheap , they normally have a rack of clips etc down the back near that other counter and should be in there , just take the badge in and see what looks to fit best .

Well they're actualy called "O" clips, or inner shaft clips etc. Larger ones are used to secure throttle linkage shafts in their joints etc. They are shaped like a thin washer with teeth on the inside. Have to be a tight fit. Can be had from any hardware/auto store ("champion" brand usualy).

Cush I can't beleive what you've done to your car!!

SHAME SHAME SHAME

The pair of undies that you've used there are definately NOT from the 1960's now it has destroyed the "period" look you are going for!!!

At least you used clean ones though... might of attracted a few dogs if you used the ones with the big skiddies on them, you could have been like the pied piper if you had used them though, with a trail of dogs following your car....

That would make it a Ford XR8 Ute then! Then Cush could add some "Boss" badging, and stripes! :P  That'd go well with the Holden badging. :P
