falkens, mabors and 539's are road tyres, the 539's are a fantastic road tyre, but they werent good on the racetrack.. because they are a road tyre.

the dunlops are miles infront, because they're a semislick, try comparing them to the yoko a032R

If I can't compare my tyres to similiar priced tyres which are not nearly as good, what is the point of discussing this topic at all?

The A539s show their worth in the wet, but like anything, isn't perfect.

In terms of what is 'racing' and what's not. D93J are not racing, they are fast road, the D01J are semi-slick racing - but still considered road legal.

Also the Dunlop D93Js are much, much cheaper than the Yoko's and, for me affordable as a daily driver tyre. And they aren't wearing out prematurely, but I put that down to my fast take offs. Get moving then plant it, no wheel spin but still lots of fun.

I'd love a set of A032R or A048R but they are just purely out of my price range.

D93J (doesn't come in 12 inch)

D01J (doesn't come in 10 or 13 inch)

D98J (only in 175/60/R13, OD=543mm, so probably really good for 13inch Minis, but speedo will under read. But dam look at that crazy tread!)

because its like comparing snow or off road tyres for performance,

falkens and the like are made to last as many kms on the road as possible while still retaining safe handling under a wide variety of conditions.

wheras
semislicks are made for motorsport, they have softer compounds which wear a lot quicker, they have different tread patterns which may not suit wet weather or dirt/gravel roads and they have stiffer sidewalls which reduces ride comfort and they may have less noise reducing tread patterns and materials employed in them.

they may be in some cases similar in price, but they suit a different requirement

What I think you should do is see if you can wear out my 11 year Falkens (10 inch). The car has zero grip yet I still manage a 1:20 at Wakefield and return to the pits with more rubber than what I went out with LOL

Want which ones? There all good, under tarmac rally, and road legal. 8)

Mine are considered wet weather, tarmac rally tyres. Really good for road IMO, awesome in the wet and still better than most other tyres in the dry too, and so far they don't wear any worse than ultra cheapos (so far, they've worn less in the same road milage  ), although they cost a lot more, but still far cheaper than low profiles or performance tyres for most other cars anyways.

The Yoko's look great and seem to be the choice of super sprinters.

But they are very expensive. I could afford them if I only drove me car too and from the track once a month or something, but not to school and work every week.

I have looked at ALL those lovely, expensive tyres but it still hasn't answered my question about the Falken 06G 165/60x12...

Has anyone used that particular tyre???

My dad has them on the Leyland.

Sadly, they cost about the same as my Dunlop's (a little bit more I think), but since 165/70/R10 is a more commonly stocked tyre size it's much better value. :(

They are OK tyres, they last for a good decent time due to the hard compound. They are fine in the dry, but a bit dodgy in the wet. If you drive to the conditions, you'll never have a problem with them. Don't try to hoon in wet weather, ever really (not that you should anyways!).

Basically I think it's the best standard stuff you got. Anyone tried the Sime/Simex tyres in the 165/60/R12 size? They are cheaper than the Falken's I believe.

The price I got quoted for the Falken 06G 165/60x12 was $105.00/tyre..

The Yoko A539's cost me $125.00/tyre about 18 months ago..
