now that i didnt know. the non matched part. i know they changed one carby cause it was stuffed or something. gerg dont get me wrong. the "first place" did the job they were asked for however the was not fixed. it was still running like crap after being sorted out 3 times. the day u drove out with it ill admit it drove really well but surely u can remember when i came back in the arvo saying that the bonnect kept opening and the wouldnt run without the choke?
Maybe the carbys are not the problem. Maybe the problem is in the dizzy?

It is funny how three different types of carbies get the same results no matter who works on it.

Could it be a worn out Lucas dizzy? (stuck weights, loose shaft, etc.)

i think he is using a pulsar dizzy and a gt40 coil? (might be wrong?) but id def opt for a nice big single carb, less hassle mate!

He tried a big single. (actually he has tried a few)

A Pulsar dizzy shouldn't have a GT40. (according to Bosch)

No. It should have the right coil for the job and the whole GT40 range is designed for points ignition systems. (according to Bosch)

This thread gets funnier and funnier. It's like a choose your own adventure book. There are so many different versions of the same story, just pic which bits you want and make your own story. Sometimes it seems like we (tiny) are talking about two or three different cars.

Perhaps he should do an electric conversion on his car? Convert the troublesome twin S.U.'s into air horns?
