bummer glad you are ok
.always insure with salvage rights .cars can be fixed depends just how keen you want to be ,the wrecking yards pay bugger all and charge the earth for the bits we want and need.

Sorry to hear about Tiny Joe,
While your Mini-less if there is a run on I will gladly pick you up mate.
And by the way, I understand Doogie has a Mini that he doesn't love anymore......

is that so??? i have been mini shopping in the mean time because i was gonna buy another as a everyday driver. but i think thats now on hold till i get tiny sorted.

i have been thinking about for the last few days to sue the bloke responisable for the extra $$$ to fix tiny and if the insurence company writes him off i wonder if i could make a deal with them to get the repairs done and ill pay the extra amount needed.

looking at the pictures it doesnt look to bad mostly panel damage, however the driveshadft will need to be replaced along with maybe the control arm and steering rack.

if the car was repaired do you think that you would come across any problems later down the track?
and would it be the same car to drive?

joe , don't get too caught up on having to restore Tiny and having to sue the other driver to afford it or you might be in for some long drawn out arguments and court cases and expenses . Try to get Tiny back from the insurance company but if you don't , don't dwell on it too much , just get another mini and enjoy it like Tiny .

you'll fix up and sell a mini that is too bent/not right enough for you to keep, to an unsuspecting loving family? remind me never to buy a mini from Sydney!

Joe just found the thread,
My heart goes out to you, I know how much you loved that car.

Just watch, I bet everything works out, either with Tiny or an improved Tiny II.

PM me any time for help or advice
Steve

i wont sell him bent up oviously, i will make sure i fix him properly. no bog only replacement panels. ive calmed down since my last post and thinking more straighter now, i will make sure i get tiny back from the insurence company but to repair him will be another matter, like i said ill have to think long and hard about it. in the meantime i have been offered to help out with a long project from a friend of dads. it is a mini and the owner is tossing up to keep it or get rid of it and has asked me for help to finish, if i except i will have 50% share of the car.

my hopes are high to get tiny on the road again though.

thanks again to everyone that has posted and ill keep you's informed on what happens with tiny in the following weeks.

tinys been written off :( its a sad day. im not sure whether is structral or repairable yet cause i didnt get a chance to ask, but i will be asking very soon. i want to buy him back though cause through someone i know that works as an nrma accessor told me that when the car didnt even get off the tow truck before they wrote it off. apparently the accessors got there looked at him debating whether it was worth it, asked around 3 panel beaters and all put a high price on it except one. this one panel beater though told the accessor he didnt want to fix it cause it was to much work and it was easier to write it off. :( . my friend also told me to becareful because some places do this in the hope they will find the car at the auctions to buy it for themselves to fix up. basicly getting a car close to nothing and fixing it yourself. so ive be en urged to buy tiny back.this is what he told me though, whether its true is another thing but i cant see more then 5grand for of damage. i spoke with john at mini king on what he thinks a suitable price cause i only have one chance at it.

i was thinking around the $1300 mark?

JESUS... I hate other drivers on the road for this exact reason. If your interested, I am tossing up on whether to keep my Clubman van... she is stock original, runs, stops etc etc... Just needs brakes adjusted, door cards, clean up, work to put in rear windows, battery and rego... Let me know if your interested... Could be Not as TIny 2..??

Glad your OK though. 4WD vs Mini is not exactly best combination.

RE wreck... offer $500
