How about....
Teh Namibian Camel tour
Yeah, great.. next you'll be requiring all participants to wear a red three-piece suit and sombrero

Indeed, and actually, Australia's "Premier 10km road race" is on again next Sunday. So that will be fun.
I have been overseas to the big island for probably half a dozen times over the years of owning a mini, so it will be exciting to finally 'host' some ferals who come to visit

.
There is a very lot of places to see and drive to here. It will hard to decide where you want to go.
SO I think I should

:D Looks like the weekend of 25/26 of Sept 2010 for this event.......mark it on calenders and diaries everywhere

Please note that this date may change slightly (it could be the w/end of 18/19 of sept or the 2/3 of oct) in the near future as it may clash with another large event so stay tuned

Will the 25/26 be Grand Final weekend. I don't think that would be a good idea.
As for a name this is important, but I am not sure.
A bit of everything read before.
A bit about our steroid (plantation) trees that are actually everywhere, something about the land down under the land down under, or as mentions just Tasminia, or something.
I think there can still be an Asparagus theme here too.
I would like to propose a route that, personally, I am extremely excited about. The theme of the tour is the letter '
S'. Being the Second most abundant letter in the word Asparagus, I think this is important. Depending on the number of days the mainlanders want to be here,
I would like to get off the boat at DEVO,
Head south through Spreyton for Sheffield, Staverton and Cethana (which sounds like it starts with an 'S').
Turn back to the coast and give the small cars a chance to cool off through Sprent and Spalford, as we go to Somerset. West of Somerset, past Sister's Beach, is Stanley and Smithton, either of which could be a rest spot. Depending on part of the 'Tarkine Loop Road" being built or not a drive of that loop road will be done, and then, or just straight, head south for Strahan via the Hellyer Gorge. With many possible side trips, this will take a while. From Strahan, the drive South West on the A10 toward Hobart, passing many towns that have the letter 'S' in them.
A stop in the State's capital, staying at Salamanca, Sandy Bay or South Hobart.
Giving Southport, Snug and Strathgordon the flick, head straight up the East coast to fill up at the cheap fuel stop of Sorrell and up to Swansea, the place that Al first disgraced himself in front of the whole Mini Club of Tas. Turn off to St Mary's pass and aim for St Mary's. Through Scamander and on to St Helens.
East of St Helens is the actual awesome Weldborough Pass. This is one of my favourite driving roads. Arriving at Scottsdale, happy hour is between 5 and 6 pm.
Back to Devo from Scottsdale through Launny and all is done!
What a great trip.
I think it is about 1300km. A bit more with a side trip through Tewkesbury

.
Oh well.
The end.
