Yep, that would be it.

Not surprising to find it was an available option, but was standard on the Aussie Cooper S at least in 1965, but I have not found out yet exactly when it was replaced with the 13-row cooler mounted onto the body.

Cheers,
Watto.

Well, almost 6 years since the last post, time to get it going again. Had the right hand fuel tank out of this vehicle recently for a clean and noticed that the saddle on which it sits is pop riveted in, would this be correct if it was an s body or would it have been factory welded. Also noted that the nut that retains the fuel tank strap bolt located underneath the body is not a captive nut ,ie is not welded to the body, would this nut have been welded in a genuine s body at the factory. Also the left hand tank has a drain fitted at the bottom wheras the right hand tank doesn't., would a genuine s have a right hand tank drain.

Can't help with the others, but the RH tank never had a drain.

The majority of MK1 RH tank support brackets I have photos of are riveted and have an open end.

The majority of MK2 RH tank support brackets I have photos of are spot welded and have an enclosed end and a hole at each end at the top.

Looking at my photos the change over may have occurred in early 1969 in the YKG2S2 5000's.

I am reassembling a '66 Mk1 (about April) at the moment.
It has:
rubber universal joints; vertical oil cooler below generator; air vent from pump to below rear seat; RH tank saddle is brazed to floor (may be a repair as RH rear quarter panel and fuel tank had damage); 2 holes in firewall near RH tank edge for LH breather hose - no clips remain - nor spot welded tangs; no drain plug in RH tank; no captive nut in floor for RH tank strap (hole accessible from underneath).

Has anyone seen a 1970 mk2 without the clips for the RH vent pipes?

Yes , that's what I thought too and in the end why I didn't buy the car.
Later someone told me that not all had them.
That confused me more
