Our new flywheel & clutch package--->

Image

Image

We have machined all the surfaces nice & flat, set up the 3x pillars to suit out new machined & press fit clutch pivot ring,,,it shifts the diaphrams pivot point, effectively changing the clamping force on the clutch plate

we have done this mod quite a few times in years gone by, but both Stews Race mini & our turbo twin cam moke need plenty of clutch grab, so we`ve done it again.

"Normally" std-ish blue diaphs will give about 6-700lbs,,, orange will give about 8-900,,,greys will give about 11-1200,,,depending on how they`re set up

we have created this set up , with a Blue one which gives 1500lbs,,, our grey made over 2000lbs of clamping force with this same mod :-)

hope we don`t have any more clutch slip for a while

Oh!!! & the new clutch plate friction discs are not cooper, they`re called "Carborundum" (spelling?) apparently they allow a bit of extra drivability (less of an on-off switch) ,,,a little easier to drive & don`t collect as much heat as copper.

My clutch has the same stuff (Carbon Ceramic) as friction material.

I'm running 800kg clamping force, ~1750lbs and it's awesome but a mean bastard at the same time. Mine is an on/off switch.

Will be interesting to see how yours goes 8)

No no - it works fine but keeps dust off it at the same time... very good idea. Like a vacuum, when you change the clutch you just throw the dust in the bin and its all spotless.

Ceramic buttons (even with cushion) are still a mean bastard... if its a daily driver and you have traffic (do you have many cars up there Matt - mainly horse and cart and tractors right? j/k ) its a pain... effective though, but a pain

Pete
