Lost my dynamic timing virginity, by checking the timing on my wife's Clubman Estate. This is the first vehicle I've maintained that has points etc, and I needed to check why it wasn't starting very well. Checked plugs etc, but I really knew it was a bad earth so checked and fixed that last.

Took it to my nearest Mini expert to get it tuned. Which meant using the new Centenary Highway extension - got there in about 25 minutes. I knew my speedo was pessimistic, so I didn't take it to an indicated 60mph, but my wife (following in the 4WD) told me that I may well have more than exceeded the legal limit. Nice piece of road - not twisty, but no traffic. :) Will be interesting to see how different it feels when I get it back. :)

Went over to 4myego's and pumped his restored Mk2 S up to a reasonable `blueslip getting' height. Then we noticed the Mini K was low so we elevated that too.

Adjusted the tappets,
Fitted a new seal for the rodchange gearbox to fix the oil leak.
Fitted Front shocks.
Set the timing
Finally drove it home.

Paranoid the whole way about every single noise and sound.

Sounds pretty good though,. Now just need a clean piece of road with no sunday drivers or roadworks to put iot through it's paces.
