That's a great write up and certainly takes alot of the mystery out of the prep work and the actual painting of the vehicle. Thanks PK for putting in the effort to write it up for those of us that need the guidance.

Two of the biggest differences in my mind are:
* if you rub the metallic paint, then you should apply another coat as the scratches will show up.
* When you spray it you should for best results cross hatch your spraying. That is instead of laying all of your coats horizontally, you should alternate between horizontal and vertical. This gives a better disipation of the flecks, and a more even finish.
*another that I was tought was to put a ball bearing in the pot and stir(swizzle) the gun around any chance you can to keep the fleck from setteling on the bottom. Keeps it even throughout the mix. Make the ball bearing bigger than the intake spout.

Others may have more items to add, or wish to amend mine. Feel free guys! :D
