And I'm currently seam welding and double skinning the inner guards on my landcrab, so should be strong enough. Shockers on all fours, ute rear suspension, quick rack, internal hydro lines (with pump), aeon rubbers, p6b brakes....... I'm building an east african safari car replica, just need the MkIII rod change set up.

Got my 7 port back from my porter. I think he has done a good job on this unknown object! He checked for Valve spring coil bind with some interesting findings - Be careful with lift with these springs I think. I am using previously installed GR266 cam. Some more lift with standard rockers would be of benefit. Porter said don't use my 1.5 rollers with these valve springs.... So 1.5 rollers will go on my S. Oh well!

Nice work on the porting 8)

I suspected as much with the springs, and queried them before I bought it but didn't get any technical data. You have saved me from having to physically check them. New MiniSpares C-AEA526 springs wil now be ordered. I've been down this path before:

Damn you. Now I'm looking at Landcrabs.

Would make a hilariously amusing hillclimb/sprint car, and much cheaper than an MG!

I FINALLY got mine! Paypal went all nazi on me and wouldn't let the payment through. When it cleared, the vensor shipped in record time.

Now I have a question: I didn't get mine with carbs so, are a pair of dellortos from an Alfa GTV going to fit? Are they the same pattern? Ultimately I want to do weber replacement throttle bodies and EFI but I want quick results dammit!

Anyone done anymore with their 7 port yet?
Lets hear whats happening.

I went to fit Minispare AEA 526 dbl valve springs and found the valve seats to be quite ordinary. They may be sealing but for how long? Getting seats re cut to do a proper job , then fit the new dbl valve springs.

Spark plugs are tricky to get at with dellortos. Not impossible. Shortened an 8mm spark plug spanner to suit.

Cheers.

SuperCooper, do you mean the valve seats, or where the springs seat? i would have thought the valve seats would be inserts?

If you mean the spring seats, maybe consider a thin steel shim under the base of the spring, in use, valve springs rotate, I imagine this could chew into the alloy.

Mini spares used to make steel shims for correcting fitted heights of valve springs, or maybe the doc has something?

No No the actual valve seat on the inserts has not been cut very well. They seem very uneven with marks all through them. They need re cutting to clean them up.

It already comes with steel shims under the Valve Springs.

Cheers Graham.

I haven’t done anything with my seven porter yet as I’m still gathering parts.
List so far;
Quaife ATB diff
MED 3.7 straight cut crown wheel & pinion
Minispares straight cut close ratio gears
MED straight cut drop gears with Timkin bearings
Graham Russell 1360 pistons
MED straight cut timing gear kit
MED billet pushrods
H Beam conrods currently on order.

So I still need a few more parts to go.

You will never hear that thing coming!!

I've sent mine off to be modified. Also collecting parts.

Wow TK, that's a dream spec right there!

Should, (as an American friend of mine says) be 'OSSUM!!

SuperCooper, I'm suprised the head man didn't clean up the seats while he was at it? sure he hasn't nicked / marked them up somehow? :?

I wondered the same thing. He didnt remove the guides prior to cleaning up the bosses, and has given them a touch up. Wonder why you wouldnt take them out to do the job??
