I've finally started work on my Mini.

Everything will be stripped and inspected to see what can be refurbished and what needs replacing.

The Disk calipers will come up OK surprisingly but I wont be using them for some time and am wondering what to use on the bores to stop rust forming in the interim.

Does anyone know what's used on new parts?

Ken

With brake parts I use rubber grease over all surfaces, assemble them and store as a complete unit. Rubber grease is used for assembling brake parts and acts as a preservative while in storage.

I agree with above.
If you are going to spray paint them I would leave until finally assembled and pistons pushed in.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pick some rubber grease up on the way home.
