Firstly, she all seems to go pretty nice, need a taco though, its seems to rev pretty hard. Its a stock 1100 afaik.
1. Now, its blowing bluey white smoke, mechanic friend says this is rings, how hard is it to replace rings and expensive? Also, what else would I replace while in there? Big end bearings? What bolts would I renew if any?
If it needs rings it probably needs a proper overhaul (rebore + pistons & rings). A straight re-ring job on a worn 1098 will not last a real long time.
Yes you would want bearings, mains and big ends- also check the crank for wear. More than .0005" (1/2 a thou) out of round and I'd regrind it for undersize bearings.
2. Mechanic friend has also noticed my dissy seems to be fairly noisey, I have a feeling my drive dog is slightly not center, so what can I do? take back off, redrill hole and re-pin? Or just file the dog to be more round? Ideas?
Mini dog is a pretty good fit on the Pulsar shaft so it's not that. maybe advance mechanism in dizzy is worn.
3. Subframe Q, with the rubber cones, are they supposed to be bolted to the frame? or do they just sit in there with the shocky/gravity holding it in place?
Subframes are bolted to body... but the rubber cones just sit in there..
4. For those that remember, I %#@!ed up my front end panel replacement, well I have just got the car back from local metalwork place, $150 for about 4 hours work straightening it out, pics up very soon.
EDIT:
New pics are up!
