Everything was going SOOO well.

But no, that can never happen in the world of Bob's Mini.   :(

I think I've broken a conrod

First morning of 2 weeks off work.
So much planned to do - a few little maintenance issues on the car - noting serious.

NOW THIS !!!!!!!

I think I'm going to spew.
Maybe it's time to get out of the mini's.

Very Disillusioned.

Don't have a couple of grand for an engine rebuild.

I feel for you. I spent two years doing up a car (not a mini) and some moron smashed it. I sold the lot the next day. Sometimes you have to do what you feel is right. It was the right time for me and 15 years later I have found the reason to build a mini, my son needs a car. Best of luck with your decision.

Was probably just the anger talking!! I couldn't sell it (besides the fact it'd be worth bugger all with a stuffed donk). I've put too much into it and also I do love it when it's going well.

I'm just really pissed off because I had the next few weeks planned out so well, and now have no mini to do my competition stuff with. I know that's not THAT bad in the scheme of things, but you know, when you have your heart set on something

I'll try and get the engine out tonight, and maybe try and get one of my mates around to help strip it and see what happens. Hopefully if won't be too bad. At least I have the time off work to fix it. Hopefully I can get it running by next weekend and all will be right in the world!!!

Hello Bob and so sorry to read of your heartache with your Mini. I hope you can get your Mini sorted out as soon as possible. I guess its easy to become dissalusioned and frustrated with Minis from time to time and that is why I had enough of my last Mini back in 1988 if my memory serves me right.

But the thing is I always regretted swapping it and I wish I had thought more about swapping it before I did. I guess I was just so frustrated with it and it did not help that a dodgy rod conversion was done on it either. Realistically though if I could have afforded to buy another car to get me to and from work at the time I probably would still have that Mini to this day. As another car could have gotten me around and also given me a break from the problems that I had with mine.

As when I think about my Mini now after all these years it still brings much happiness and fond memories of the times in which I had in it. Also I have to admit they are a real buzz to drive and after all these years I was able to drive a Mini again and it was only then that I really realized what I had been missing all these years.

Anyway I truly hope that you sort out your Mini problems and that your Mini can still bring you many years of happiness without having to part with it :).

Making a jack hammering sorta noise from the bottom end :(

I'm going to try and get it out tonight, maybe strip it over the weekend or monday. If it's not TOO serious I may have it running next week - I can only hope!!

Mine was making that sort of noise once. It was the crank though! Snapped clean in half.
