As the title says, which is best, the one with a hole in the side or the one without the side hole. |

I think the best ones these days are the ones with the correct hardness and radius ground into the tappet surface. |

Safest bet is second hand BMC ones, spherically ground by Graham Russell in Sydney or Matt Read in Brisbane. Nitriding the reground cam helps life too. Last time I spoke with Graham 2 weeks ago about the Kent lifters, he gave them his blessing, maybe the info in his blog above may be out of date now? Moral of lifters story- don't bin your old ones unless chipped on the face. Get them reground. |

Hi All At the moment the only cam followers I would put in a motor with out grinding are the Kent Cams CF95, these followers are all around 63 RC very hard and have the correct radius on them I haven't seen mini followers that hard for 30 years or more. These followers are not cheap 95 pounds a set, they claim they are made in the UK but you only get what you pay for. Graham Russell |
