Hi All,

I'm prepping by best boot lid for paint. It was previous badged as an 1100, but I'm putting Deluxe badges on it.

Can someone please show me a pic of the MORRIS MINI DELUXE badge location that also shows the handle?
I've looked online, but I cannot find one that has been taken from directly behind the car.

Many thanks!

Below a couple of pics stolen from online. There's no guarantee the badges are in exactly the same spot as the factory did but they do look OK to me.

This is a BMC drawing of the holes for a Morris 850 badge. I reckon the height of the fixing holes would be the same for the Deluxe badges.

Perfect, thank you I couldn't find any images that good :)

Is anyone able to measure the spacing between the ends of the underline between MORRIS and MINI, and MINI and DELUXE?

In one of those pics, the MINI looks off centre in relation to the handle.
If I arrange my 3 badges evenly spaced I get the same result.
I wonder if my MORRIS and MINI from the 1100 are slighlty different widths to the MORRIS and MINI from an actual Deluxe.....

Just a note on measuring the badge position from the grid-lines shown in the original drawing linked by Winabbey above.

The dimensions reference to a vertical and horizontal grid which references back to a Global 0,0,0 co-ordinate. Each grid line is known as a 10-line.
The vertical 0 line is the Y-axis centre line, to the LHS is -10, to the RHS is +10
The horizontal 0 is the Z-axis and from looking at a few other Mini drawings looks to be 10 inches below the the front axle centre (or possibly the sill). The X-axis looks to be referenced from the front axle, meaning that forward of the axle is -X and rearward is +X.

What does all this waffle mean? The bootlid in the drawing is curved and leans forward at the top. That means that if you measure down from the top of the handle hole by pressing your rule on the bootlid the your badge hole will be in the wrong place - too high. It also means the hole pitch across the car may be wrong if the plan view curvature of the panel is large enough.

I just had a quick check on my Mini to see what the difference would be but without removing the handle or the badges and I measured to the bottom of the badge as it is easier.

Vertical measurement was approx 5", pressed against the bootlid gave me 6", so badge position could be 1" out - not an insignificant difference.
I think the drawing shows 4.81" to the holes, but is a bit hard to read, so my 5" to be badge bottom is about right.

Started as a note and ended up a short story - apologies for that, but hope it is helpful.

Cheers, Paul.

Thanks TDS76.
I'm okay with the vertical positioning as I have the holes left by the 1100 badges as a reference.

Hi there, I’ve measured a 22mm space between the line under Morris to the line under Mini and a 21mm space between lines under Mini and Deluxe.
Looking from the back side of the boot lid left to right the spacing between the four pins that can be easily seen is 71mm, 68mm & 76mm.
