There are NLA door hinge part descibed as "Washer-special-rear servo top hinge".

These washers are used on the door hinges, not sure where they fit or the dimensions, any help would be appreciated as I need some for my resto.

The only thing special is they are a large diameter thin 1/4" flat washer.
I would guess about 3/4" OD.
They spread the load to avoid distortion of the door skin.
Try eBay or Jaycar.

Hello Cooperss
I have a flat washer here that fits to the rear top hinge.
It is 1.5" dia, x .035" thick and .25" clearance hole.
I've seen a work around on the Mk 1 forum using a rectangular spreader/ washer cut from an old hand saw.
Regards Glen

Known as penny washers, or fender washers.

They are only fitted to the rear most stud of the upper door hinge, both LH and RH, on the inside, against the door skin and before the tapered spacer and spring washer - for the above reason.
I have some in a 'Zenith' pack from the local hardware. They call it a mudguard washer.

So is this penny, fender, mudguard, panel washer flat or curved?

They start off being flat but then form the curve of the panel.

Be careful just buying washers by the names already listed from Bunnings, or wherever. The correct washer is quite thin, about the same thickness as the body panel. They are meant to deform to spread the load across a curved surface. If you fit a thicker washer you could end up seeing its outline around the end of the hinge on the outside once it's been tightened.

There's some more info and a pic of the said washer here - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93191

I made a couple up using a hole saw and some sheet galve I had, which just happened to be the same thickness as original washer - easy peasy.
I did get them re-plated when I had some other parts done.
