I had noticed this quite a few years ago when these oil filters seemed to go cheap, they started leaving the two small rubber seals that go either side of the can on the bolt, out of the box and only supplying the singular large rubber ring seal. I did an oil and filter change on my car for the first time since 2015. And things havnt changed. No small seals in the box.

Are these seals available separately? What do others use? There is going to come a time when I can no longer use the same seals over and over.

GFE 104 it comes with 2 rubber sealing rings

Google the part number Approx $17 -$20-00 each.

In your position and if no-one else responds I'd see if any of the rubber "washers" on the nut/bolt/screw/ etc. stand at Repco, SuperCheap, etc. are the right size.

I guess another question is, is anybody still using cartridge filters anymore??? Or has everyone gone spin on?

Nearly everyone I know has gone to spin-on, it's far less messy. They're cheaper and more available.

Hi Brad,

Apologies for the delay in responding, we have found that the 2 gaskets have been omitted, as you have advised.

Please accept our sincere apologies, we will have this problem rectified.

Yeah I had this issue a while ago too. I took the Ryco filter back because it was useless to me without the seals. I found that Repco Silverline brand had the seals. Pretty crap from Ryco though.

Brad, I got the same email from the same bloke at Ryco back in 2008.
I haven't bought a Ryco filter since.
They are no longer a manufacturer, they just sell imported filters with their name on them at rather expensive prices.

Just buy half a dozen filters now and that should last 40-50 years.

What brand of cartridge oil filter is everyone using these days?

Is the Ryco R2200P still missing those 2 seals?
