One of our NZ members is having more made and sending to me for distribution/sale. Not sure of the timing. Are you in a rush?

Tony - the metal version was supplied to John Smidt by Leyland Australia under that part number but he's not aware it was ever used in production in Australia. Black plastic (polyethylene) was used as the grille spacer on the S and carpet spacer on those models with carpet.

24A1152 is shown as being used on a number of other non-Mini model vehicles according to the Unipart UK parts listing - 1100, 1300, 1800, 18/85, 2200, Wolseley Six. I haven't checked any of those parts books to see where on the vehicle it was used and whether it was likely to have been plastic or metal.

To answer your question, I think black rigid plastic (by whatever name) is the closest to what was used in production. That's what my NZ contact did previously and is having done right now with the new batch.

Original spacer on the right and new repro on the left.

Doug, thanks for that information. I don't want to tread on anyone's toes in NZ so if he is making them, I suppose customers should wait. If he isn't, then these are easy to make, especially in black. regards Tony

I've asked him for an update.

Try https://www.datch.fr/es/mini-mg-triumph ... 515_451515 . If you use google chrome, it can translate it for you. I made some alloy ones, painted satin black.

Hi Tony

Just been alerted to the chat about grill spacer's for the Cooper s and carpet spacer's also on the forum.
Over the last few years I've had these made to the original spec including the material and sent some over to Australia for member's on the forum who wished to purchase them.
I've had a request to supply some more set's via my Australian contact and they are being made at the moment.
I still have a small number left from the last production.
I'm happy to send a number of sets to my Australian contact as planed in the near future and to be honest haven't checked to see if they are ready for pick up.
I don't want to tread on toes in Australia but if people are looking for some - they are not too far away.

Cheers Pete
