Post subject:  Fuel pipe - hard line under car

Just making the fuel/brake/hydro lines for under the car. I know the std fuel hard line is 1/4", but is there any advantage/disadvantage changing this to 5/16" besides being non-original? My reasoning being rightly/wrongly so, is if the interconnecting pipe between the twin tanks is 5/16" and the braided fuel line between this pipe and the fuel pump is 5/16", why not use 5/16" soft and hard line to the front bulkhead and the same size braided line to the weber banjo joint? It really doesn't make too much difference in price or the amount of work/time to make the new hard line. I do also realize, I will probable never run the fuel bowl in the weber dry in road driving (or motorkhana/club track day) and will be running a fuel regulator/filter. Just a thought.

I would, no gain, no loss... maybe one day you can run E85 though it

Thanks Simon K, my thoughts entirely. Just not 100% original, but you would have to be good to pick it.
