The panel beaters/spray painters I last used had no trouble. |

I m not surprised Supercrap declined, they probably do not know what paint is anyway. Any decent paint supplier will mix it for you but you will get a closer match if you can provide them with a paint chip they can scan. |

I think Winabbey had the correct Mk2 colour Silver Ash made up from colour matching. The supplier was Milsomes Auto Paints. |

No lead in the paint now. You need a formula made from a sample, or a modern mix. |

I went down the same path when I painted Minnie's rims and thought I'd go with the silver birch. Had it made up at a speciality auto paint supplier using the specs they had for it according to their Morris / BMC data. Unfortunately the colour ended up being nothing like what I was expecting and was more goldie tones than silver. Silly me decided to paint all 5 rims at once as I thought maybe the clearcoat would help. Boy was I wrong. Live and learn though. ![]() Ended up stripping all the paint back off and re-priming again. Ended going with Duplicolour wheel silver with clear coat and I like how the rims turned out, especially with new hubcaps on them. Not original I know. My 2 bobs worth is to just paint 1 rim fully first to make sure you're happy with whatever paint you use. Also, leave the rims for as long as you can before fitting the tyres to give the paint a chance to harden off. Cheers, Rocky |
