Hello cooperess I have noticed you have had a lot of posts which is great.
When is the estimated time for completion ? As you probably know you will need a normal mini wheel as a spare as the other wheels are to high

Estimated completion time is when it's all together to my satisfaction.

What are the other wheels you mentioned?

Looking at putting Nankangs on my wheels.

You won’t need a different wheel ...The S came from the factory with an S wheel under the boot board and it fitted fine..

However.... you will need a 145 tyre. Its the extra width of the 165 tyre that prevents the boot board from sitting in its mounts.

Cheers, Ian

If you deflate the 165 it will fit. LOL. ;-)

Ian

I tried a new Blockley 145 on my S rim but sorry to say it won't fit under the boot board :(
I tried a new Faulken 145 on the same rim and it fits :D
Maybe someone could add to the tyre list for further help.

Cheers

Will 10" FALKEN SN-807 TYRE-145X80XR10 tyres on Cooper S 41/2" rims fit under the boot board?

I would say yes. I have a pair on my boat trailer.
They are much narrower than my A008s on the Mini.

That would be a yes :D

That is the only tyre on a 4-1/2 cooper s rim so far that I have found that will fit under the boot board with original underlay in the spare wheel well.

I use an OLD Aquajet as a spare.
Would not want to do too many miles on it.
I wonder if a new Aquajet would fit??

We are reconditioning the rear of our S and I just noticed this post after discovering the boot board did not fit properly with a 165 spare fitted. Was about to order a Nankang 145/80R10 69S tyre to go on our S spare wheel and was reminded by this post that the S wheels are 4 1/2 inch. Do I need a wider tyre for the 4 1/2 wheel?

nup, it's fine.. 165's are a bit too wide for 4.5" rims anyway

So, which brand did you end up with, as I am thinking of getting some 145's? Also did you require tubes?

Hi CooperS

I ended up getting a NANKANG 145/80R10 69S from Tyroola online for $84. They have a service to link you up with local providers to have them fitted, but they don't have a service in Wollongong, so got Jax tyres to fit. We have these on our van and have found they are good in the wet and have reasonable grip on corners, not that the van ever goes very fast. We are using it as a spare on the S, and I imagine it will hardly ever be used, so no need for anything pricey.
