Just wondering what peoples experiences are of THE best current radiator? I think I put a hole in my alloy one today while replacing the water pump!

From the one I received I would not recommend the minispares super 2 core C-ARA4443 or C-ARA4442 (or any other of the same manufacturer) due to quality control/manufacturing issues.

maybe I was unlucky but it has made me say that when I next need a new radiator I won't be buying one made by the same manufacturer. I ended up buying a good condition used rover radiator.

I have the Minispares ARP1110 rad - Aluminium and looks like an original one, deals with my 1098 with HS4 & LCB/RC40. I have had no issues with it at all but whether it's the best or not I couldn't possible say.

Cheers, Paul.

Thanks guys, pressure off as after reassemble it’s not showing any signs of leaking. But it does run hot, especially in Queensland summers so still keen to sort best rad. Or maybe I need to run a small front one too?

I still think the best option is a new core using the original tanks.

That's what I hear from many knowledgeable Mini people who aren't distracted by the shiny surface of the alloy versions that look great but may not perform as well as the original design.

I've had an aluminium eBay one in my car for 8 years or so... but I have a great collection of originals that just need cleaning. My local radiator place takes the tanks off, cleans out the tubes and puts them back together. Cheap and works..

I put an Ebay Alloy radiator into my Group N race car. It ran so much cooler I actually took off the second small cooler. It made a big difference. Replaced radiator was fully reconditioned original.

Does anyone have a re-conditioner in Melbourne that they would recommend?

Ditto: except a radiator re-conditioner on the Brisbane northside?

I have a 1275 California Moke radiator in mine and it cools well.

I use Yarra Ranges Radiators in Lilydale for all of my radiators and fuel tank cleaning and sealing.
