Somerford and UK sites list them as GFK7514

https://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/saloon- ... 969-part-2

AKD3510 and AKD3503 lists them as 13H217

Well this topic has taken an intruiging turn. I had a look at the somerford site, and they list quite a variety of fixes. All the parts books we usually use here show 13H217 which is the plastic fix mentioned above, but it seems earlier cars do not use this. Here is a picture of a metal fix from my own 850 (UK style boot) and a 13H217 plastic fix. There is no way that the plastic fix will fit in the holes of my boot lid. But alas, neither Doug or I can find any mention of a metal fix between us even though the drawing shows a smaller hole prior to 1965. Those somerford mini parts may be genuine parts, but I have usually found that part numbers beginning with G are often unipart listings and not the original BMC parts.

Possibly not for the purists, but those in desperate need might be interested:

Unipart deserves a capital U for those who may not be familiar with the company, originally created in 1974 as a division of BL.

Actually, launched in UK in 1969. The branding was always written in all capitals UNIPART, but company documentation shows Unipart, UNIPART, Uniparts, so it seems there are some variations depending on context. Unipart operations began in Australia in 1977. I apologise deeply if anyone was confused by my editorial error. regards, Tony

No, not 1969.

Quote
Unipart was formed in 1974 as the parts and service division of British Leyland (BL), under the management of John Egan, who ran it as an independent subsidiary of BL.

Fascinating stuff.. I repainted my bonnet a while ago, but didn't run a drill through the holes before I put the plastic inserts in... Doogie brought the inserts to Hay for me, I was fitting the badge before the Saturday morning parade... Doogie belted the badge on for me, the inserts are a bit second hand now, but the badge isn't going anywhere. Lesson, make sure the holes are the right size

Well, if I were to choose between Wikipedia, which is where your quote apparently comes from, and a company document, I would choose the company document any day. Picture below snipped from company brochure "The World of British Leyland" Annual Report 1972 published by British Leyland.

The bad thing about Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it.... but the great thing about Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it, make corrections, add citations and references, and then it will be reviewed by everyone in the whole world
