Hi, thanks for your comments, i’m getting various readings on the leads, and now questioning whether i’m measuring right.. i have the multimeter set on 20k ohms coil to dizzy i’m getting a reading of 16.8 (new lead) Lead 1 = 9.4 Lead 2 = 9.6 Lead 3 = 5.0 Lead 4 = 7.5 also of interest is that if i use the multimeter continuity setting (beeps when has a circuit) i only get a sound out of Lead 3… |

Great news!!! we have lift off…. after all the stuffing about, turned out the plugs appear to be the problem…. new plugs and it fired, first go! and yes i had checked the plugs where sparking thanks all for your help.. can’t wait for my next dumb question… |

Questions from an inexperienced Mini enthusiast is probably a better description. I don't remember being called dumb by the teacher in primary school when I got arithmetic sums wrong. At that stage I hadn't learnt and therefore didn't know. |

And as I used to tell my apprentices Dumb questions are infinately preferable to dumb mistakes. |
