My suspension seems like it may be too hard as I seem to feel heaps of bumps very sharply and it feels unstable cornering quickly. The only other mini I have driven was hydro so I don't know what it should be like. Tyres are 12" A539 and the total toe in on the rear is around 30′ (can't remember exactly). I am wondering if it is the fact that the rubber cones were purchased in 2018 and unused until 2022? They were also purchased from a place which I have found everything from them has had to be replaced. I got it registered in May 2022 and drove it for a few months before removing the engine and I didn't notice it but there were many more important issues to fix. It might have also been hidden a bit by the fact the subframe mounting bushes were new but rubbish and I also replaced them before reinstalling the engine. |

I guess these ones unless they have changed what they sell. Attachment: Screenshot_20230419_210400_Opera.jpg

I might try lowering the tyre pressure, I am currently running 32psi front, 30psi rear. |

I used to run 30/28 I now run 28/26. I think grip is better in both wet and dry. 165/70-10 A008s. |

You may have one that has collapsed, giving uneven loading across the car. A bit like an uneven table at your local cafe! |

if they are a cheap set they will not last. I use a Moulton kit and they have not gone down at all and are very comfy |

How high is the suspension? If it’s too low and hitting the bumpstops it’ll cause irregular handling |

The only offficial data I have found is for hydro minis and specifies 33cm for the front. I can't remember what I set it to originally but I seem to recall 34cm and the rear was higher. I still wouldn't call this low, I even constantly get told by one person that I have "beach buggy suspension" ![]() This is the quickest data I have on hand, when I adjusted it I used what is in an official workshop manual pdf that I have. "Sports" hilos are flat - no radius at all. The greater the curve, the softer the suspension. Cleverly made ones (calling Matt Read) have a progressive rating/curve. |

I only have hilos on the front and they are original ripspeed ones, the type which use the hex rod to adjust. These should be ok right? If I get stuck on this problem I will go confuse Matt again, I have confused him many times although I don't expect this would ![]() |

I haven't yet raised the front and realigned it but the tyre pressures do seem to have made a big difference. On another issue what would the acceptable runout be on a 12" steel wheel. When I balanced them they did "wobble" around which I think might be causing some noise I am getting. I have three more to choose from, I just need to repaint them. |
