The indicator cancelation screw on a mk1 steering column, where should this clock?

My steering wheel is not sitting where it should be, so I would like to remove and replace the column, but making sure it is correctly clocked.

Thank you

The column can only go on one way on most minis. In the central/straight position the clamping bolt should be horizontal at the bottom. The steering wheel should be level in this position.

Thank you. I haven't pulled a column on a mk1 before. So this is good info to know.

As mentioned above, pinch bolt horizontal

Then make sure the wheel is on straight

Then line up the outer column so that the cancelling peg on the column lines up with the centre of the indicator stalk.

If the steering wheel is not on straight then maybe it needs to removed from the column and corrected??

No need to move the column unless there is another problem.

Cheers, Ian
