When the gauges stop -

1. Is the stabilizer still putting out 10v on the I terminal? Sounds like the contacts are staying open and not resetting.

2. Does the B terminal have 12v? If not then there might be a high resistance connection on the fused power.

Two minutes after what? When you say they stop, are you saying they go to empty and cold?
Is the engine running? Is the fan belt not correctly tensioned?

With a battery voltage to the B terminal and a good earth to the stabilizer body and less than 10 volts at the I terminal means the internal contacts are remaining open longer than they should or they have dirty contacts.

You could try to open the box and clean the contacts points first.

To raise the 6V to 10V you might need to apply more pressure to the bimetallic strip by bending it a bit.

The best option is to convert to electronic.

A bit of info here - https://www.minimania.com/Smiths_Voltage_Stabilizers
