Please give your experience on using CRC EVAPO RUST on rusty Mini's. It sounds good and looks good on youtube. |

The MSDS says its just phosphoric acid (10-20%) in water, with some other additives - all rust converters are basically the same thing, it's the phosphoric acid that does the work. A very nice man once gave me a couple of bottles of basically 100%, I use it when I have no other way of dealing with rust, and only ever a little bit - wire brush, wipe on, wipe off |

Ed China did a YT video soaking a range rover chassis in nearly 2000 litres of it. |

Phosphoric acid will remove rust from steel/iron but converters change the rust to a protective layer which limits further rusting. Emery Chemicals in Sydney used to make "Emertan" which was a tannic acid based rust converter. Had a magnificent port wine smell too. "Fertan" is a similar tannic acid converter that is still available. |
