Never seen a 8 Port Head like this before but a Mate in Marybrough has it and wants to know what it is off of.

He said it was on his motor when he got it but the Valve seats have cracked and he is wanting to know if he can get it fixed and use. He said when it was on it went really hard. He has twin Webbers for it.

There are some flow tests for the westlake head on Marcel's page:

Here's the link:
http://www.planet.eon.net/~chichm/tech/8-port.htm

It seems to perform very well especially the exhaust side of things :D

Ivan Glasby at Mini Spares in Castle Hill has a Weslake 8 port like that.
Dunno if it had those plugs on the front (can't see) but otherwise it's similar.
Here's a pic- note the plate on back, mounted at an angle, like on the head in your pics.
Car was imported from Sth Africa.

looks like a few good things have come out of south africa.
My mate in south africa has a wstlake head but wont start casting them for himself cos he wants to be the only person that has one.
I even offered to pay for the casting and all the hard work but still not.
let me know if you want to sell that one as im have been lookingf or a new 7 or 8 port head for myself for a while now.

These Weslake heads were of course made in UK, but it was way back in the 60s...

That's a Westlake allright, but I wonder why the inlet manifolds are welded on? Maybe an early prototype?
