Hi all. I have a pair of sliding windows I want to use on me car.
But Im having trouble finding the felt runners and felt seats for the window frame.
Im sure I dont know the right search terms. Could someone point me in the right direction.
Can the runners have the felt replaced or do I need new ones?
Is there a part number I should look for. This is for a bits-a 63 mini BTW

Any help is appreciated as always.

G'day Kirby,

I've got a 63 sliding window and these are the minispares part numbers for each part or get the kit as per Simon's link.

24A88
14A7167
GHF400
EAM8530 and 31

When putting the new channels on the bottom, make sure the screws are well countersunk or they'll scratch the bottom of the glass.

Cheers Rocky

Hi kirby, to the best of my knowledge, the proper stuff has been unavailable for years (decades:( ??

The original channel was metal with a bristely liner. Looking at the MS photos I would suggest they still sell the same stuff I bought about 20 years ago. It consists of a rubber "W" shaped channel with a felt inner finish.

I wonder if it's possible to get them to send a small sample (although I'm unaware of any alternatives if you don't like what you get). The rubber stuff fits OK but with time and heat it shrinks and distorts..... making the windows VERY reluctant to slide (ie open and close).

If you can find any of the proper stuff I'm sure I'm not the only one who be overjoyed to share your good fortune.

Cheer, Ian

The lower channel is still supplied with a metal inner and bristly liner. I think it had a double sided tape or something similar on the bottom edge and I think I had to drill the holes for the screws. I put new lower & upper channels a few years ago and they’re still working well

I would agree with Timmy except that the curved top runner doesn't last long.... The proper one I bought about 10 years earlier is still quite good. (Different car obviously:)

Mine has only been there 8 years, but so far so good (for modern rubber)

When (if) I get around to replacing mine, I will glue the internal slot of the W together to give it a bit more rigidity. Over time mine has splayed out and jams at the sides..(and it is 20 years old:)

Cheers, Ian
