Post subject:  Wheels

I need some help with wheels.
I'm looking for a bargain, so have been looking around at other brands of wheels which could be redrilled to suit a mini.

I haven't been doing so well thus far

So far I have bought a set of 12" Datto Wheels, and a set of 13" Hotwires (Suit Corolla).

Neither can be re-drilled because the Stud pattern is WAY too different to Mini.

Now I know that Mini's have 4 inch PCD (or at least I think that's right??)

Can anyone think of any cars with a similar PCD - Not talking the same, but similar?
Escort maybe??

Also, what is PCD?? I know you measure centre to centre, but is it from the stud holes next to each other or diagonally?? And is the 4 inch measurement for Mini's right?? And what is the size of the bearing cap hole in the centre??

H E L P ! ? !??!

You measure from stud to the one next to it NOT diagonally.
The first of the Holden Toranas (HB I think they were called) had the same stud pattern if that is of any help.

Yeah I thought I was measuring it correctly.
HB's aren't all that common - same problem with finding mini wheels.
What I was looking for is just something close to mini so they can be re-drilled easily.

Does anyone know of an online listing of PCD sizes??

I couldn't find anything on-line that has a vehicle like for like type listing. I would suggest that you call a couple of the large tyre places asking for 2nd hand mags for a Mini, and while you're talking to them ask them what other vehicles wheels share the same PCD. The should either have a cattle dog to reference or know the lists off by heart.

Cheers,

not a bad idea that speedy. When I finally get this crank sorted out I'll do that.

A PCD (Pitch circle diameter) is measured diagonally on a 4 stud wheel.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am of the understanding that it is illegal to re-drill wheels.

Get a set of ROH Contessas for around $250.
