I had a set, IMO they were a rubbish idea.
They've caused it to look like I don't know how to drive many times. I'd go to take off from lights and it would stall (and it's an auto). It seems that it was the sliding points mechanism at fault, when going to take off the vacuum suddenly changes causing the points to move and make poor contact. I tried a ducellier and it had the same issue. changed to a distributor without this feature and it's never done it again.
Now I use the baseplates from Chinese distributors to replace the ones from 59ds. Gets rid of the sliding points.
There's two more reasons they cause issues. The new vacuum u its are the wrong length so cause the position to be wrong. The quality of the sliding mechanism on new points is bad. I even had NOS Bosch made in England ones and the plastic was split on every one.
