Is there a difference in the cover of a single to a twin row timing chain or are the covers the same? |

There are several cover designs. Some have a brace across the middle which needs ro be ground away, I would avoid these. Don't use the single row chain oil slinger it's too wide. Either fit the almost flat 1275 one, or run without. I'm not convinced they do much with current oil seals. And new ones now are too soft and can compress and loosen the harmonic balancer. Edit: For example my 1360 runs the Italian 'Triger' belt drive kit, which have no slinger. |

Thanks doc, great info. Although I actually meant is there a way of telling if an engine has a duplex chain from the cover. |

You can’t tell without removing the cover or crank pulley. Most covers will work for either setup & most minis have had at least one new timing chain set by now |
