Hi, looking for a few experienced folks to discuss the correct connections for the MiniSpares.au ignition switch 18G-8892. It came with a small slip of paper showing: Red - Battery Pos Blue - To Start Solenoid White - Ignition Coil + and fuse ( It has a loop of white wire which goes from one terminal to another ) Yellow - Accessories and Radio My Van had four wires connected into the original ignition switch: White - I'm thinking this should be connected to the White! Brown - I'm thinking this should be connected to the Red - Battery positive White with blue tracer - Should this connect to the solid blue wire on the new switches plug ? White with red tracer - Here, I have seen the white with red tracer out at the coil, but? I've seen the clubman electrical drawing in the How to, and I can see the original switches terminals numbered on the back of the body, but it gets a bit odd with terminals 2,3, and 4 I think.... For slightly more confusion for me is that the new switch uses different terminal markings like IG, B, etc. I'm thinking maybe one of the white with colored tracer might need to connect to the yellow accessories wire? Anything you all can do to help is greatly appreciated, so, Thanks in advance, Mark |

White with the red stripe is for the starter solenoid so would go to the blue wire. Brown goes to red. You will need to check the other two but white is most likely for the coil so goes to white from the switch. I don't know why the sellers of those switches join two of the terminals. One is for a ballast resistor so is of no benefit to connect together. They are switches for Datsuns. |
