I will retire soon and none of my kids are car enthusiasts so I tried to sell my Mini but if it does not sell I will just have to convert it to LHD and then ship it to the Philippines. What do I need it is a 1973 Clubman GT, aside from the steering rack and the moving things over to the LH side and re plumbing the clutch and brake.

1. What type of rack will I need? there are too many choices.
2. Why does the accelerator pedal not work? can it be converted?
3. Is the wiring to the gauge cluster long enough to move to the LH side?

Thanks ,

Minisport sell a LHD rack. They should be able to advise you on any issues, tips and tricks when fitting, above what is already in the product description.

BMC Australia included LHD option in the technical design of the round-nose Mini. I don't know if that extended to the later Clubman/Leyland vehicles.

The following diagram shows the brake and clutch arrangement for RHD and LHD. In your case I suggest you refer to YDO6 (Cooper S) which has a PBR VH44 power brake booster that remains in its original spot on the RHS flitch panel and has a pipe coming across the firewall from the master cylinder. The clutch also has a pipe coming across to the slave cylinder.

What do you mean about the accelerator pedal not working?

I can't comment on the wiring loom for LHD.

I believe that the LHD accelerator pedal is a different shape due to limited room.
