Hey guys im new here just posing the question of how much our cars are worth. Im driving a 62 baby blue 850. It runs a 1400 with a graham russell head, manifold, cam and a 45 webber. 1.5 rollertip rockers belt drive cam high flow water and oil pumps the engine and box are about two months old. Maniflow extractors into a 2 inch pipe. Pulsar 250mm discs on the front ventillated and slotted and the pulsar calipers. 13" superlites on the front running 850 spacing so no flairs and just 12" superlites on the back. Paint is in average condition and has silver racing strypes. Momo steering wheel, 92 civic seats. From the outside it looks stock apart from the bigger wheels and tinted windows has the original chrome grill. I'd be ineterested to see what people think its worth. |

Is it just me or are other people sick of the how much is this worth, how much is this worth questions...?? Seriously, I think that realistically its worth whatever someone would pay for it. Cant be said any simpler than that. If you have a car that you have done that much work to it, then you would know the price on it. Alternatively, if you have bought the car like that then you know how much you paid for it. Add on a couple of grand and there is your starting price. People will bargain you from there. |

I know how much i have spent on it. But how much is somone willing to pay for it is the question. The market determines the value im trying to fiure where its at. |

I understand what you are trying to do, however as this is so subjective the only way to really find out is to advertise it for sale and then you will know what the market will pay. That said from what you have described, I would guess anywhere between $1000 - $5000 (see how futile this is). ![]() |

Not really futile for me if your telling me you guys would only pay max 5 grand for a car with a 6 grand engine. Then its not woth selling is it. I was thinking 10 to 12 k |

4000-5000 for the engine and you would be throwing the car in for free? seriously if you were to sell it as bits you would make closer to 10k i would think. But if you need to know for insurance purposes, then i would think around 6-7k. More if you you give it a nice coat of paint or let 13secmini at it, he may be able to buff it up and make it look a million bucks. then you would be looking at 10k fo insurance and around 8k for a private sale. Dealer sale(trade in) Car Sales Guy" Mate i wouldn't be able to tarde that for more than $100, people don't drive em anymore, Why don't you test drive one of our Real MINI's" ![]() Cheers Aaron |

is it road worthy? is it registered? are the brakes and motor engineered? does everything work? if the answers to all these is YES then i would say its worth around 7 grand. Why have you got 13's on the front and 12's on the back? i know this is illegal in nsw, plus would look pretty silly. |

The other thing is, the people who pay the kind of money that you are talking about buy either: 1. Original low mile cars (generally Roundnose) 2. Cooper S 3. Completely modded or restored cars - lately clubmans have been commanding the higher prices in this bracket. Your car unfortunately falls into none of these categories because the paint is average and as 13sec said, you're running odd wheels - I wouldnt buy that. A good example of this category would be Anton (J_A_M)'s red clubman recently completed. Besides, being an 850 its always going to be worth more as an 850 - so i would go with the sell by parts idea because if the shell is Ok someone might want that for an 850 resto, someone somewhere is bound to want a russel engine and those two alone will probably exceed the price of the whole car. The problem with the whole car thing is that your car sounds rather built to personal taste - I like 850s but the idea of 92 civic seats erks me, while some people will think thats a great idea but be turned off by a car with 'racing stripes'... Obviously you cant please everyone but the car needs to be generally "taste-accessible" if you want a price like 10-12K. Surely you realise the golden rule that you never get back what you spent on any car, classic or otherwise, mini or otherwise. |

This is the same question everyone asks themselves when selling ANY car. Do a bit of research, look at the online carsales sites, mini car club sites, trading post, even ebay. Compare your car to those and you'd have an idea. You'll never get back what you've spent on it. How much is my standard 2000 Daewoo Nubira Wagon, white, 78000k's, tinted windows? F'd if I know |

Marvin just stick some Type R stickers on it, a fake racing fuel filler cap, take the hubcaps off the rear wheels leaving just the black steelies and then put gold RAYS 18" wheels on the front. Oh and maybe then get a hacksaw, chop away ur bumper at the front and stick in a big intercooler, whether u have a turbo or not. Finally so you can handle all this get the biggest tacho u can find with an equally large shift light, just in case you're stupid enough to not know when to change gears. Hey presto its worth $30K cos its a really racebred korean street machine. |
