Without mentioning names I would like to air a greivance I have with the way people do business (buy and sell) parts on ausmini.

Recently I have had a few bad experiences with sellers changing their minds, upping their prices, not selling, not returning calls and emails etc.

I am more than understanding if your circumstances change but if you are in negotiations with someone don't go and sell it from underneath them. Give the other interested party second option! This is the decent, Aussie way of doing things.

If you say you are going to send pictures by a certain time - please do it!

Your post count should not have anything to do with buying and selling on ausmini. I am all for looking after you mates first, but don't stuff someone else around because you want to play favorites.

I apologise for criticising a normally excellent forum. But I have experienced half a dozen appauling transactions in the last couple of weeks, and it is starting to annoy me.

Cheers
Andy.

Go on, name names. It's more fun that way!

I can't agree with you Bromley as I have had only positive dealings with buying/selling stuff on ausmini. Some forums adopt a few different 'policies' on the buying and selling of goods. One fo the best ones I have seen is the "buyer/seller feedback". Maybe this could be something that is put up for discussion.

I agree with Bromley. A few times i have sent a pm within minutes of an ad going up, only for the item to be sold to someone else who didn't see the ad for hours or days, without even getting an acknowledgement. I know i'm in the boondocks up here, but there is such a thing as politeness, common courtesy and being 'true blue'.

If you only want to sell to someone else in your city, mention that. Have the common courtesy if someone asks about something you are selling, reply to them, even if you don't want to sell.

</end rant

Cheers
Matt

I am not going to name the sellers I have dealt with, because that will only have a negative impact on a normally excellent forum.

Since my initial post I have received an explanation and an apology from one seller. Seems like an alright person in fact.

I was perhaps motivated by anger when writing my first post. All I ask for is a bit of common decency.

Fine points Bromley.

As Matt68 pointed out about sending PMs, I would suggest if you send a PM, post a reply that you have sent it, as the seller may not necessarily see the PM alert. It will also make others aware of your interest.

I'd also suggest that because the Ausmini forum is here for the betterment of Ausmini members then if you have a part/car listed for sale here, then it's for sale here ONLY......nowhere else.

Acknowlegement of PMs that are sent would be appreciated also. I have had a lot of people asking for more info/pics for things i have for sale, i type a reply and go out and take photos of what they want, and then never hear a peep again. Even a "Thanks but not what im looking for" would be fine. :?
